C. Ronald Platt, P.E. Austin
A native of Austin, Texas and a petroleum engineer since 1962, "Ronny" Platt opened a private consulting petroleum engineering office in Austin in 1976 and in 1980 co-founded the firm of Platt, Sparks & Associates. He was previously employed by Chevron Oil Company, a subsidiary of Standard Oil Company of California, for more than thirteen years. Platt served as petroleum engineer, reservoir engineer, drilling supervisor, and operations (production) supervisor with Chevron. His duties included petroleum engineering and management assignments in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota, as well as offshore Nicaragua. He furnished technical guidance to and represented Chevron before State and Federal regulatory agencies and served as an expert witness in numerous regulatory hearings. He participated in all phases of development, operation, unitization, reservoir studies, and economic evaluations. Platt is the Chairman of the Board of Platt, Sparks & Associates Consulting Petroleum Engineers, Inc. He is highly respected in the petroleum industry because of his expertise in the petroleum engineering field along with personal and professional relationships developed over the past forty four-years. Platt is recognized as one of the leading professional petroleum engineering experts for numerous companies and industry groups in regulatory hearings and litigation. Platt is a 1962 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, from which he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. Platt is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers. |
