Terry Payne has been with Platt, Sparks & Associates since September 1991. Payne works on all phases of complex petroleum engineering studies. His experience includes reservoir simulation studies, secondary and tertiary recovery predictions, fair market value and development studies, economic analyses, gas contract analyses, environmental assessments, and tight gas evaluations. Payne is recognized as an expert witness and has testified before the Railroad Commission of Texas, the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division and the Louisiana Office of Conservation.
Before
joining Platt, Sparks & Associates, Payne was
employed by Chevron USA, Inc. in New Orleans. While with Chevron, he had both production
engineering and reservoir engineering assignments in many offshore Gulf of Mexico and
inland water fields. Payne's experience includes field developments, property evaluation,
drilling and workover evaluations, economic analyses, reserve calculations and all phases of production optimization and reservoir management.
Prior to his employment with Chevron, Payne worked for
Conoco, Inc. in their operations group in South Texas, where he was responsible for
problem well analysis, remedial recommendations and on-site supervision of well work.
Payne received a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum
Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 1985 and is a Registered
Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. He is a member and officer of the Society of
Petroleum Engineers, a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers, and a
member of the Society of Professional Well Log Analysts.
