John Miller is a partner of Platt, Sparks & Associates Consulting Petroleum Engineers, Inc. John joined Platt, Sparks & Associates upon graduation from Texas A&M University in 1995.  He was promoted to consulting engineer in 2001

Miller’s areas of responsibility with Platt, Sparks & Associates include: reservoir engineering studies, economic analysis, reserve determination, field development studies, well log analysis, gas contract analysis and environmental impact assessments.  Miller also works with the Railroad Commission of Texas in assisting operators with regulatory matters and has testified before the Commission.  He aids operators in securing well commingling permits, spacing exceptions, density exceptions, disposal permits, new field designations, special field rules, field consolidations and tight gas area designations.

Miller holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University at College Station and a Master of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.  He is an active member in the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
